1. Nature of the Platform
Ceylon Gem Registry (CGR) operates exclusively as a digital directory and lead-generation platform. We connect global buyers with independent, verified gem merchants in Sri Lanka.
CGR does not directly sell gemstones, nor do we process payments for the purchase of physical inventory. All gemstone transactions occur directly between the buyer and the seller off-platform via their agreed-upon methods.
2. Seller Subscriptions & Payments
To maintain an active dealer profile (Vault) on CGR, sellers are required to pay a recurring subscription fee.
- By subscribing, you authorize us to charge the applicable subscription fee to your chosen payment method.
- We use trusted third-party payment processors (e.g., PayHere) to handle your payment securely. We never store full payment details.
- Subscription prices are subject to change with reasonable prior notice.
- Failure to pay the subscription fee will result in the automatic suspension of your dealer profile and listings.
3. User Responsibilities
Sellers Agree To:
- Provide strictly accurate, truthful information regarding gem treatments, origins, and laboratory certifications.
- Honor the direct pricing displayed on their CGR profile when contacted by buyers.
- Maintain a valid National Gem & Jewellery Authority (NGJA) license for export capability.
Buyers Agree To:
- Conduct their own thorough due diligence before transferring funds directly to any seller.
- Acknowledge that CGR is purely an introductory directory, not a party to the transaction.
- Assume liability for verifying shipping arrangements, refund policies, and customs compliance with the merchant.
4. Intellectual Property
All structural content on the CGR platform—including design systems, logos, layouts, and copy—is the exclusive property of Ceylon Gem Registry. You may not use, reproduce, reverse-engineer, or distribute our content without explicit written consent. Sellers grant CGR a perpetual, royalty-free license to display their uploaded gem media for promotional and directory purposes.
5. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall Ceylon Gem Registry, its directors, partners, or employees be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from:
- Your use of, or inability to use, our platform.
- Disputes, financial losses, or physical harm stemming from transactions conducted between buyers and sellers.
- Errors, omissions, or deliberate inaccuracies in seller-provided gemological data or media.
6. Amendments and Termination
We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. We also reserve the absolute right to terminate or suspend accounts that violate our network policies (e.g., misrepresenting gem treatments or practicing bait-and-switch pricing) without prior notice or refund. Continued use of the platform following any modifications constitutes your formal acceptance of the updated terms.
